There are two ways to pay for the system above. Write a cheque for £320,900, or pay roughly £6,500 a month for five years and own the asset at the end. The interesting comparison is not between those two numbers — it is between either of them and the labour spend you already have. Ten operators at £16.30 an hour on that shift pattern cost around £1.1m a year, roughly £92,000 a month. The finance payment is about 7% of that.
