Facts, photography, footage and a spokesperson for stories on parcel delivery, warehouse automation, British manufacturing and small firms using AI. Everything on this page is free to use editorially, credited to Orion MIS.
Orion MIS designs, builds, codes and supports its own automation in West Sussex: the Helix sorter, the HeliOS software and the controls that run them.
Danny Grigg founded Orion MIS in 2019. The company designs and builds parcel sortation and warehouse automation for UK carriers, fulfilment operators and manufacturers, and runs its quoting, design and project delivery on its own AI-assisted systems.
Danny comments on parcel logistics, warehouse automation, and how small British firms use AI and automation to compete with global suppliers. He is available for interview, live or recorded, at short notice.
What happens between the van and the door, why some depots cope at Christmas and others don't, and what gaps, rates and induction mean in practice.
How a 40-person company quotes, designs and deploys software in days instead of weeks, and what that means for UK productivity.
Why most UK warehouse automation is imported, what it costs operators, and what a UK-built alternative changes.
Live site footage first, then the full library. Broadcast-quality originals and on-site filming can be arranged through Danny.

Orion MIS is a British technology house based in West Sussex. Founded in 2019, the company designs, builds, codes and supports its own warehouse automation, including the Helix parcel sorter and HeliOS control software. Helix steers parcels on pivoting wheels with 200 mm gaps between items; at APC Overnight's Cannock hub, the Jupiter line peaks at 13,000 items an hour on mixed freight. Orion employs 40 people and offers its systems to buy outright, or to pay for monthly or per parcel.
